]performance s p a c e[ has always worked to be a hub for national and international performance artists, and we are proud to exist in constellation with many artist-led spaces around the world.

Outside of our curated programmes, we are able to offer our live/work space in Folkestone as a venue - for performances, exhibitions and workshops, and as a residency centre and site of artistic production.

We are frequently visited and activated by artists in this way and our subsidised space is offered on a sliding price scale, depending on an artist’s funding circumstances.

Currently based in Folkestone's Creative Quarter, ]ps[ is situated amidst a vibrant artistic and creative community. Minutes from the beach, with the wild and beautiful Kent coast accessible by foot, ]ps[ ]ps[ is uniquely situated for restorative and inspiring artistic work. We offer our space as a site of action and production, or pause and reflection.

The typical rate for independent artists is £250 for 7 days (or £50 per day) which represents a 50% in kind subsidy, and includes access to a self contained accommodation unit with kitchen, bathroom, library/archive + a large separate studio space for making. The accommodation has 2 fixed beds & 4 additional fold-out beds available on request. This rate is negotiable depending on your funding circumstances. The group and corporate rate may be higher.

Please be in touch with Joseph (joseph@performancespace.org) to discuss.

Drawing on the remarkable artistic community of Folkestone, for additional fees, we are also able to provide additional services such as artistic mentoring, production support, photographic or film documentation and collaboration, and dramaturgical support. Please discuss with Joseph when booking.
